Tracking your research impact on policy with Overton In-Person

Have you ever wondered if your scholarly research is being cited or mentioned in policy? Well, now you can check with Overton!

Overton is the world’s largest collection of policy documents, parliamentary transcripts, government guidance and think tank research. It allows users to discover policy documents, their links to each other, to academic papers and to relevant people and topics.

In this session we will learn how to:
  • Search for policy documents that cite or mention someone from your organisation.
  • Create alerts for mentions in policy.
  • Discover other like-minded researchers and find possible collaborators.

This session will be led by Ellie who is here to support you with using and making the most out of Overton. She was previously Research Librarian at Swansea University, and so is very familiar with the research impact environment and the importance of knowing and understanding your reach.

This session will be of interest to those who use or are looking to influence documents written for or by policymakers.

Please bring your own device, as participants are encouraged to explore Overton as part of the session.
