Reproducibility and Open Access Event - Open to Northumbria University staff and PGR students

Reproducibility and Open Access Event - Open to Northumbria University staff and PGR students In-Person

Join us for a half day open science and reproducibility conference to celebrate Northumbria joining the UK Reproducibility Network (UKRN).

This event is designed for Northumbria University staff and PGR students and offers a great opportunity to learn more about the key areas of open research and how it can benefit your work.

Open research is an umbrella term that refers to the adoption of a range of practices that aim to improve (1) the quality of research through increased transparency and the adoption of more robust methods and (2) the accessibility of that research. You can read an example of how this has been applied in this Wellcome Open Research article.

About the event

The event will include both communal and faculty specific sessions. Staff are invited to deliver talks on their experiences of open science and PGRs are invited to present their work in a poster session. We will also be joined by guest speakers, showcasing best practise in open science and reproducibility, and how they contribute to the success of their institutions.

From this event, you will:

  • Learn more about open science, the UK Reproducibility Network, and wider issues affecting research in the UK
  • Gain insight into open research practices at Northumbria
  • Hear about the work being undertaken by colleagues within your department and wider faculty
  • Have opportunities to network with other staff and PGRs with similar interests
