Open access with biscuits In-Person

Open access with biscuits

Academic research papers are important, worthy, and (usually) interesting. But let's be honest – not very tasty. In this interactive session, this key shortcoming of academic work will be addressed by using biscuits to represent different routes through the open access publishing landscape.

As you enter, help yourself to a biscuit - you'll have already made a publishing decision before you know it! Through a series of reveals, you'll discover what your biscuit choice represents: from gold OA to green repository routes, preprints to diamond access. We'll test your new knowledge with scenario-based challenges where you identify the right biscuit for different publishing situations.

You may learn something about navigating open access. You will definitely eat a biscuit*.

*Biscuit eating is optional, you will not be forced to eat a biscuit. Vegan and gluten free options will be available.
